The Bethany Quilters
Providing warmth for “the least among us.”
Every Wednesday morning at 10:00, the fellowship hall is filled with the whirring sound of sewing machines, lively talk, and laughter. The Bethany quilters are doing their part to put into action the parting words of the Sunday service: “God’s work — our hands!”
The quilters are cutting donated material into eight inch squares and then sewing them into quilts tops, assembling them with donated sheets and batting, and using brightly colored yarn to tie them together. The beautiful and unique finished products are then donated to Compass Housing Alliance, Mary's Place (a drop in day program for homeless and formerly homeless women) and other service organizations that minister to the homeless and those in need.

All are welcome to join us from 10:00 to 2:00. Bring a sack lunch, as we break for lunch at noon. Can only come for part of the time? That’s not a problem. Don’t know how to sew? Not a problem. We have a variety of jobs in the assembly and will gladly show you how it’s done. Some of us even cut squares at home while we’re watching television. We welcome the donation of gently used sheets of any size and color and non-knit material large enough for eight inch squares.
Come join us.
